The Duplex system was used to install dewatering wells to 30m depth and also to install soil nails. Ground was variable glacial outwash, gravels, sands and boulders.

Block 185, Austin Tx, USA
Block 185 is an under construction office skyscraper located in downtown Austin, Texas. Completion is planned for 2021. The tower will be the tallest office tower in Texas outside of Houston or Dallas, reaching 182m in height.
SYSBOHR is thrilled to be part of this project in collaboration with its US partner International Drilling Equipment (IDE) based in North Carolina. Here two Casagrande C7 machines can be seen equipped with discharge preventer and double head systems rotary / rotary are installing tie-back anchors with a D 193.7mm outer casing and D 114.3mm inner rods. The entire system as well as the casing shoes and drill bits were custom designed and manufactured by SYSBOHR for the encountered ground conditions.
The scope of the project includes 540 holes varying from 15 to 30 metres deep over 6 excavated layers.
A special thanks to Oscar Orduno Inc. and IDE for the job-site photos.

Cockatoo Island Seawall Seepage Barrier
2017-06-27
Sysbohr’s thunder down under!
As featured in the March / April 2017 issue of “Deep Foundations” magazine.
Sysbohr components were successfully applied on a challenging project at the Cockatoo island iron ore mine off the Kimberley coast in the northwest of Western Australia. The mine was recently expanded up to about 50 m (165 ft) below sea level using staged construction to create a rock fill seawall around the open cut mining operation. The “stage 4" expansion utilised an innovative seepage barrier solution using a grout curtain to provide the necessary cutoff to allow access to high-grade ore, while protecting the mine from inundation by the sea.

Autobahn A3 – Sysbohr supported slope stabilization
Due to a slope slide during three-lane expansion project oft he A3 next to Waldaschaff (near Frankfurt and Aschaffendburg), the contruction operations had to be interrupted immediately. This threatened to cause a serious delay to the project.
Sysbohr were involved in resolving this unforeseen occurrence. One of their drilling systems was used to fill up drilling holes with metal rods and subsequent cement grout. This action helped to stabilize the slope.
Another service Sysbohr provided was with their hydraulic casing lifter fitted to an excavator. The assistance was also a device factor in keeping to the given time schedule.
